New IRCD. (any progress )

New IRCD is looking to be ready at the 20th of June. HATT will not be ready until July with documentation for chanops courses. TT would like to make the switchover by the 20th of June and give all ops a list of commands which have changed to tide them over until the new courses. The other option is we wait but then Webrat becomes less available into July and August and we want plenty of time to get everything stable before JOTI.

So the option would be to switch now and we have a list of commands to see us through.

The New IRCD has nice documentation, but HATT will have to make a special version for Scoutlink, as we have some special stuff on the settings.

The other option would be giving HATT time to catch up, but we don’t know when that will be except it will be before JOTI. Tucker is very busy at the moment.

IRCops can get by with the IRCD manual, chanops commands are not that different.

The last option we do not like very much, most people will learn easily themselves.

So the motion will be to change at the 20th of June. Council has voted for that and carried unanimously.

TT report: TT has started to have meetings. The minutes are on www.scoutlink.net and will continue to be. We want everyone to be able to see what progress we are making. TT will no longer be a closed booked.

Nairobi has decided to leave because of school commitments.

There is a maximum of 4 possible candidates that we will be interviewing for TT in the coming months. If any CC/RC know anyone else interested, then send an email to TT with skills they have.

We are going to have a new and better helpdesk to sort out problems, but we are still choosing which one with the HATT so more on that when we choose.

Elections results CC Venezuela, RC Asia.

Anamartha is asking council to ratify Mafernazaret as CC Venezuela. Mafernazaret is Maria, she is a Roverscout, member of Asociacion de Venezuela ( NSO of WOSM ). She is 18 years old ( legal age to vote in  Venezuela ). She has been a deputy. Council has ratified her to be CC Venezuela unanimously.

RC Asia we don’t know, it is taking too long though!

Official Channels Scoutlink.

There has already been a decision about which channels should be deleted. What about #ventures, #sounds and #rovers? 

Council has voted for to delete those as well, carried unanimously. Council has also voted for to rename #mirc-help into #help, carried unanimously.

We have to work out who is going to be admin for each channel, which means being able to add chanops etc. For the language channels it will be CC/RC’s. Radar will send a list to Emyli of all CC/Rc’s.

For #hamradio, #trefoil and #collectors the coordinators will be admin there. So we need a list of that as well. Voske for #hamradio, Rae-Rae for #trefoil. Who for #collectors? For the youth channels it will be the youth coordinator.

They also would like to rename the youth channels. It is suggested that Council can vote for that and then suggest the change to youth-team, but it should be up to the youth-team in the end.

Things like that would go easier when coordinators are allowed to attend to Council meetings. That will be an item for next agenda.

Some channels like #collectors are suggested to be JOTI only channels. Deciding which channels should be JOTI only is going to be on agenda for next meeting.

Boomer has not been told anything about this, so we will postpone till next meeting.

Any Other Business.

Emily thinks we need coordinators elections for youth, because he is overdue. Also we should discuss next meeting where coordinators should be in terms of Council structure.

Judy has set up a poll about her not being able to attend to the council meetings for 6 months and not having her removed. Please vote!

Juham says Polish elections are going on. Enough users found, now finding candidates, please put approval new CC Poland on agenda for next meeting.
