Agreement of previous months minutes

Minutes carried unanimously.

Xmpp/Jabber chat

Webrat did send an email to council list about this subject and wants to know if we will give it a try. He should first have a discussion with Tech Team and after that bring a proposal to Council.

We don’t think we can give it a try before JOTI, so after JOTI is o.k. Then there will be plenty of time to test, if we want that.

Resignation Tech Team member Doomer_BE

Doomer_BE has resigned from Tech team due to home and work. He has been thanked on behalf of Council by roger-uk and also he has been wished all the best for the future.

JOTI/Tech Team Coordinator

These are two items put together.

Jacka ( Tech Team Coordinator ) has not been logged on in the past three months. The only reason his nick has not expired is that Tech Team members have their nick not set on expire. This is not good idea and we will talk about that with Tech Team.

Roger-uk has been tried to have contact with Tech Team but their list traffic is very slow and he receives messages only

Tech Team has to be more open and informative about what they are doing and why. They are the experts but Council is the elected representative.

We need a new Tech Team Coordinator and new blood on the team to do specified jobs.

As far it can be seen Tech Team has six members at the moment; Jacka, Boomer, Acoster, Nairobi, Megalive and Danscout.

Jacka has not have a deputy and would not appoint one.

Roger proposes that Radar and he will call a meeting with Tech Team to discuss the team and a new coordinator.

Carried with two abstentions.

CC Poland

It looks like it that this has been withdrawn due to inactivity with elections.

Grandpa is going to try and sort out elections and come back to Council then.

Council members duties and responsibilities

Roger-uk is reminding all CC/RC’s that they need to be on Scoutlink to assist. And that JOTI is a prime event when it’s expected that all CC/RC’s should be online.

All CC/RC’s need a deputy.

Some users don’t even know who their CC/RC is. And some users asked where their CC/RC was.

There has been a question by Scout_BZ if it would be a good idea if it is shown in host mask what people are, like user @ deputy.scoutlink.net

We will see about that after Tech Team is sorted out.

Coxswain his host mask is not right yet. We can deal with that after Tech Team is sorted out.

Help and Training Coordinator-ratification of Tucker

Tucker is a Dutch scout leader and of age. He is already a member of Help and Training Team.

The Help and Training Team Coordinator will be an Ircop approved by CC/RC and Council.

Ratification is carried with one abstention.

The discussion about having the coordinators of all teams as none voting members in Council meetings will be done by email.

Scout_BZ is part of Help and Training team and CC. He will also be the Council member who sits in this team

Any Other Business

Coxswain: is there any news about having a generic email address for CC/RC’s? No. Coxswain will email council list about this subject.

Asia Pacific Internet Jamboree is still going on. Someone of the organising team and director of the AP region responsible for it came online today.

Coxswain will make a report after the event.

Scout_BZ: says an educational activity that the WOSM has suggested to do this JOTI is posted in the newsletter from JOTI to all NJO. The activity is called “World Scout Challenge” which specifies that it is Scoutlink for communication.

Please review this document published in the section group doc. And take some action.

Tinge: general info; the Nordic NJO’s are going to make me ask the JOTI-bots to be added a function for the Scandinavian channels. They will also like to try and make their associations do web chats into Scoutlink, like YMCA Denmark did. Tinge is proud she is used like a cooperation “tool” between Scoutlink and the associations.

Her next conference will be the European one in Iceland.

Webrat: just wants to say that there was not much action since last meeting according to translating the website. If someone wants the website in their own language, please mail to webrat and you will get the rights and can start translating.

Roger-uk thanks everyone for coming to the meeting.

Meeting closed at 15.29 hours GMT.
