time
- leon-amis is still out of line so insted of him I propose Scoutbuck

- wolverine have some little problems to be conected long time as
usual, this will be same for almost two moths more, he has been
promote at work and have lot of work to do
- the rest of chanops are still learning using Ellie's guide
JOTI 2000
- bucanero will be the coordinator for this year JOTI, he has the
idea of use the quizbot that has been used before for other channels
if it's available
- next month an invitation to join JOTI on scoutlink will be sended
to different country associations in order to have more participants
on #espanol
VARIOUS
- on the agenda that has been sended by IRON, is a little mistake:
it said : MX AND SOUTH AM mayra and CA for Faona
must said: RC for Mx and South America = Faona
RC for CA and Caribbe = mayra
- I think that our photos will be on line on this month. Mine is not
available, must take one at least for this.
USA:
- generally nothing has changed
- worked to hold elections for CA and to get nitie organized as a new CC
- talked with leon and bip and bobwhite about ways to burn cd's for
northam at minimal cost/effort to distribute
- contacted several websites with no/out of date info about scoutlink/joti
and asked them to update it and/or offered to provide them with new
content (e.g. USSSP)
- hassled various people about things related to northam
JOTI:
- contacting various teams to follow up on their 'assignments' and the
conclusions of those projects
(bot team, rota team, etc)
- following up with channel coordinators to ensure that they are making
progress (some channel coords are not reporting in and this may mean they
are having difficulties - more next month!)
- contacting websites about out of date info (e.g. www.joti.org)
Brasil
As the last months, #portugues activities have been very stalled, without changes at all...
I'll mail UEB (Scouts Association from
this is easy, not much has chanced. Like i mailed you
earlier we are invited to become an official partner with national scouting
organisation, but next meeting is in september. We are seeking a candidate
ircop among the chanops of dutch, as soon as we have found one, we will
present him (we dont have any female candidates) to council.
Dutch is still going strong, many ideas, lots of people, lots of argues,
ideas, etc. We are busy organising ourselves more and more, takes time, but
we are getting there.
We are officialy recognised as a partner in joti and more, so we think we
are in
we can stay that way.
Docteam:
the team that is working on votingdoc, had a very fast start, they have
stopped at a surten point. Now the waiting is for a online meeting. Maddog
is very active in this and i hope he gets people moving. Like i told u
before, i dont have that much time to keep track of things in docteam. I
just monitor things.
1 JOTI
I have been appointed by the UK Scout Association as assistant National
co-ordinator for JOTI. There will be a fact sheet prepared and available via
the Scout Asssoc web site & info centre. We have 2 x 1/2 page ads booked in
Scouting magazine.
This will all compliment the work
give us links from Scoutbase.org.uk
2 Scoutlink Co-ordinators for WJ 2007
Given a choice for this job I would choose choille or roger_uk not PomPom
(hes already doing the fellowship liason). I think it needs to be a UK
person, as you know I am a member of the core UK Scout association team for
WJ2007/Internet area and there will be an increasing number of meetings to
cover as we move towards 2007, so it makes sense for the co ScoutLink rep to
be able to attend the meetings
3 2005
There is to be a European jambo in 2005 as a trial run for WJ2007, we shall
run some but not all of our wj2007 internet activities in 2005
4 2007
Broad brush plans for both 2005 and 2007 are prepared (by myself and the
other 2 members of the core team) and now await the nod of approval from
higher up the Scout Assoc tree so we can flesh them out, and circulate them
more widely.
The activities at channel #scandinavia has been very high in the month of
May.
More new visitors come by and most of the regulars are working on the Easter
camp 2003 IRC_scand and meet online to decide stuff.
This month has been the most active ScoutLink month offline ever in my
entire ³career².
On May 4th I drove cross-country to attend a meeting in my ³own² scout
organisation (there are 3 organisations in
WAGGS and 1 or 2 independent ones Š I think). It was a meeting that lasted
all day and all the district / division commissioners with international
affairs from all over the country was invited and ScoutLink (me). It was a
meeting to improve international activities in scouting (the girls are
scouts in Danish language no offence to the WAGGS members) in KFUM-scouts,
exists Š too few people knows that in
On May 9th to 12th I went to a Nordic Radio- and Internet scouting seminar.
It had participants from the National Jota/Joti Organizers in all 5
countries:
ScoutLink. I was allowed to bring ChanOps to represent all relevant
countries BUT only succeeded in bringing Wraith from Norway due to some
financial and ³political² difficulties in the local organisations. I myself
am still struggling with my ³own² organisation about financing my
participation (*BIG sigh*). The Nordic Radio- and Internet scouting seminar
was a big success and during the weekend I was able to prove to the NJO¹s
(National Jota/Joti Organizers) that ScoutLink is a great ³tool² for them
and that they should indeed use their RC. During the weekend I made
arrangements for a NEW ScoutLink channel. The Icelandic participants whished
for an Icelandic language channel (Icelandic is a very far cousin - if
Norwegian & Danish & Swedish are brothers and Finnish is just happening to
be a neighbour no relation at all) and I made them a temporary JOTI channel
on the spot. I really think the Nordic Radio- and Internet scouting seminar
was a big step in the right direction for ScoutLink in my region.
Some of my work as RC has been sending out welcome letters to that load of
web registrations I get from mike_uk. I think the web registrations get more
and more. This is a sign of activity I really see a lot of, and I hope we
find a way for those registrations to be sent directly to the proper CC/RC
without human workload
Italy:
We produced the first 25 copies of Italian Scoutlink CD (version 1.0) and gave them out during a meeting of 400 leaders last may in Venice.
Tech team report for May can be found at...
http://www.elliesplace.org/TTCreport0502.htm
2.0 Web registrations procedure
Global Council voted to forward the webregitrations direclty to CCs/Rcs and also for the creation of a databese where all the registrations may be stored.
3.0 updating of website
Global Council asked webteam to keep updated the website more often and in particular all outstanding updates will be completed before september. In addition, Global Council asked the webteam to create a public area where all documents could be stored. This will be organized with the help of an automatic script. The webteam asked that a new method of requesting changes be used, including putting wsite in the subject of the email and clearly including the exact webpage address of what must be changed and all information for the changes.
