1.0 New Tech Team coordinator
Due to resignations of Ernie_nl as tech team coordination, the tech team was asked to make a purposal about a name for covering this important task on Scoutlink. After a short conversation about this problem was asked to Leon to join the meeting and to exaplin the Council what they ( TT’s ) thought to choose or if they had a name. They confirmed the name of Ellie ( that was also circulated via mailing List days before ) . The Council choosed to ratify that name but with some reccomendations: to work hardly and fully like it was done by the other TT’s and above all to produce a list and a plan with names of new members and the way to work for the future. Untill today Global Council has on the table two possible names for new members of TT: Drewbe, Biff and Raydn. The Council will eventually ratify their and other possible members position during next meeting. An official letter written by The Council to ellie will be sent by the Secretary.

2.0 Joti registration service
About this Service many Country Coordinators think that it is interesting keep on this thing because they can write back welcome letters to new users and things like that. Thus about the Service the Council decided to ask the Global Webteam to prepare an update with the following words: Register as a Scoutlink chatter and receive help about Scoutlink stuff/problems instead of Register and receive help. This thing will keep clear that the registration isn’t just for Joti but it can be used also during the normal avtivity on the network. Registrations will be sent to each CC. I.e. The registration of an italian will be sent to Italian CC.

3.0 News server situation
About the newserver situation Global Council confirmed its interesting about this service. But it will ask Woody to sort this problem in the best way he could. Heirarchy will be change as decided in the past. I.e. italian forum is scout.org.scoutlink.forum.italiano so everything under scout.org.scoutlink.*

4.0 Renaming of Servers
Nems of server for Scoutlink Network were always written on the cities jerarchy: so city.country.scoutlink.net i.e.: leeuwarden.nl.scoutlink.net. This jerarchy caused some problems to writing names in case of splitting and things such like that. So there was made a purposal to rationalize names and map choosing to adopt the following compromise solution: zeist.nl.scoutlink.net would become nl2.scoutlink.net

5.0 updating of Scoutlink.net Website
Here we have several problems. First of all Global Council asked to the Secretary to write a letter to Global Webteam for asking them to prepare a plan for their worki in the future. There are some problems open about the way to manage the webteam and this causes too much work about the updating the webiste with one only main result: the global website can’t be updated frequently. Second thing that Secretary will ask The Global webteam is to make the following urgent updating:

a link to national organizations like scoutlink.it webmaster of scoutlink.it is massimo rainato that is part of your team too;
a clear page with the Global Council members ( names, pictures, and tasks ) Now we have three tasks active: Bob Bristow as Chair and Davide Grisafi as Secretary; Mike Whay as Channel Coordinator.
The updating of news server pages. Contact Woody for that. If you connect to http://news.scoutlink.net there is still the old logo; An help section with IRCle (spanish and english) and for setting sounds (english and spanish). On scoutlink.it there is a complete part of the site about Ircle. Maybe you can contact direclty massimo rainato for helping about that.
The control on spanish version it seems there are some mistake there, please contact Faona for that.

6.0 rotating schedule for CC's so that we don't get a whole new council
Here the problem is to plan the elections of new CCs following a schedule instead to have a whole council elected. Proposals were: 1/3 ( of CC’s ) jan 2004..... 1/3 dec 2004 and 1/3 june 2005 and Nov 2002 (1/3 countries stand), Nov 2003 1/3 stand, Nov 2004 1/3 stand. Council voted to adopt the second one. More details will be written next by Nerilka within 21th of december.

7.0 voting in e-mails to get things working faster than only every month
The Global Council decided to authorize the votations through List for urgents things. These votations will be called by the Secretary and clearly by The Chair when the vote is requested atleast by 4 Country Coordinators.

8.0 Joti Coordination Committe
Last meeting it was decided that it is necessary to open a special Committe for the coordination of Joti activity on Scoutlink So the purposal now is that Tabaqui and Nerilka will be asked to form a joti co ordinators group. After coming up with terms of reference and asking for members via CCs (CCs may choose to be JOTI co -ord)

9.0 O-lines for Kotuku and IK
Council decided to give back o-lines to Kotuku and IK ( in the past for several reasons they were away for a long time ) .

10.0 Other business
it was decided to give life a workshop for studying best soltuions to manage #jambo. I.e opening specail mailing list, discussion of how-to-seminars for use of commands and so forth. Further details are avaiable asking Mike_uk or Nerilka.

11.0 The log of conversation and the next meeting date
The log will be avaiable for all memebers of the council behind request to the secretary. The outcomes of the meeting will be published in a web site by the Chair. The next meeting will be Friday 4th of January 2002 at 22 GMT on #council channel
